AORN launched a fresh online job board called the AORN CareerCenter in January. The improved CareerCenter will replace the general online job posting site and will be available year-round. PATIENT SAFETY FIRST

AORN's near-miss reporting program, called Safety snare now is available online at http:// www.patientsafetyfirst.org/safetynet.htm. The program allows clinicians to report near misses anonymously. Clinicians will not be asked to provide patient name, facility name, or the names of any health care personnel The data amassed will be analyzed on an ongoing basis to identify stretchs and patterns, as well as deficiencies and discrepancies. Information derived from these reports also will be used to lay open educational programs and materials for AORN members and others interested in patient safety in surgical settings, and it will be disseminated within patient safety alerts on the Patient Safety First and AORN web sites and in the AORN Journal and SSM give suck tos and other perioperative clinicians are encouraged to use this reporting classification to ensure data quality.
