According to a Dec 23 2002 freshs release from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), data from late 2000 and early 2001 point out to that many people with chronic health conditions continue to mere phrases including

* 379% who have emphysema,

* 248% who have asthma,

* 20% who have hypertension or cardiovascular question s and

* 185% who have diabetes.

Three not at home of five people with these conditions reported that a physician had advised them to quit smoking within in the past year.

Other data from the AHRQ contemplate indicate that

* 231% of the public older than 18 years of age smoke

* the community who have less than a high instruct education are more than twice as likely to be smoker than those who have an post high school education (ie, 328% compared to 158%) and

* simply 16.8% of Hispanics smoke compared to nearly 24% of population from other racial and ethnic groups
