I am writing in replication to you...
I am writing in replication to your editorial "Are you educationally biased" (February 2003 page 272) Let's agree to disagree. I think the notes you listed are based forward ignorance and lack of professionalism. Secondly ye we all know there are multiple education ways to becoming an RN, getting the same RN license, and the same pay. Although this is a sensitive issue and no single in kind wants to talk about it, we ne to respectfully acknowledge our differences, build upon our strengths, and learn from our weaknesses. We all have something to ofttimes With this in mind, we are not all the same, and ye there is a knowledge difference among the different education horizontals Why else do we want give suck tos to get advanced degrees? Is it not to gain more knowledge and skills to make a difference in nursing, patient care issues and health care issues and policies? It is in our differences that we have a circulared perspective. Finally, it was discouraging to read, "It appears to be too late to sink our occupation under one consistent educational requirement...." That is what is detrimental to our profession. What other profession has as many multiple avenue levels as nursing? I remember in the 80 when there was chances of discussion and exerted effort to grandfather all non-BSNs, and making BSN the barely entry level into nursing.
