Women bear the shock of responsibility in taking care of children's health urgencys and caring for older adult or sick relatives, frequently at the expense of their have a title to careers and income, according to a May 6 2003 just discovereds release from the Henry J Kaiser Family Foundation. Data from the 2001 Kaiser Women's Health review indicate that 80% of married mothers play the major character in selecting their children's physician and taking children to health care appointments, and 58% of mothers are primarily responsible for making decisions about their family's health care insurance.

Many mothers must trade caring for their children for work at jobs earnings and career advancement. The overlook found that 49% of working mothers miss work when their children are ill compared to 30% of working fathers. Half of these women are not paid when they stay domestic circle with a sick child. In addition, 30% of working mothers worry that their coworkers will not be understanding when they miss work, and 35% worry that these absences will affect their piece of work evaluations negatively.

Other examine findings are that 10% of women are caring for a sick or disabled child or relative. Twenty percent of these caregivers report that their acknowledge health is fair or poor, and 43% have a chronic health condition requiring ongoing care. Twenty-five percent of women who are caregivers do not have medical insurance themselves.
