The AORN Journal has been honored with a 2003 APEX Award for good quality in feature series writing. The series "Ethics in Perioperative Practice" was published in nine parts from April 2002 to December 2002 The articles explored the issue that the American Nurses Association's (ANA's) digest of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements has upon perioperative nurses. Each article interpreted undivided of the nine provisions outlined in the ANA collection of laws and provided examples relevant to perioperative nursing. Article authors included Jackie L Berlandi, RN M CNOR; Catherine besom ARNP, APRN-BC; Cecil A. King, RN M CNOR; Kathryn Schroeter RN M MA, CNOR; and Patricia C Seifert, RN MSN CRNFA, FAAN.
