A randomized, double-blind reflection of 907 postmenopausal women was designed to compare Femara (letrozole tablets, Novartis, East Hanover, NJ) with tamoxifen as first-line therapy for women with locally, advanced or metastatic breast cancer. The data from the Phase 3 application of mind showed that those treated with the tablets demonstrated higher survival rates.
