As a reflection manager of oncology clinical trials in the pharmaceutical company and biotech arena for 10+ years, I had to annotate on your editorial referring to the use of "patients" versus "subjects" for individuals who fix upon to participate in clinical trials.
I agree with the hint to "subjects" in a clinical trial IF and solely IF, the "subject" is a healthy offer who would not normally be involved with the production under investigation, i.e., the individual single outs to participate for the sake of science (or monetary reasons).
