I have any sympathy with the plea according to Marc Buyse and Damian McEntegart ("Achieving Balance in Clinical Trials," May 2004) that it is inappropriate for the EU Regulators to operate a blanket ban forward dynamic allocation methods, not least because I be wrought up that as a general principle guidelines should be as flexible as is possible, consistent with the aim of promoting upright practice.
