Although the title of this part is directed toward emergency department (ED) personnel it can be helpful to all health care providers. This is a case inquiry book that discusses a variety of ethical question s faced by health care providers during emergent situations. It will appeal to suckles physicians, paramedics, hospital administrators, lawyers, social workers, and philosophers. The authors not away three goals for this book:

* to provide the means for readers to discuss and evaluate ethical dilemmas in pass patient care, to offer suggestions for critical review of past decisions, and

* to sharpen health care providers' skills for recognizing and resolving ethical question s The book is divided into five sections. The first section provides an overview of all the possible ethical dilemmas that can arise in conjuncture medicine. This overview is provided through two ED physicians, a philosopher, a law professor, and a medical ethicist.

The other section consists of case studies of various ethical situations. This section provides questions for readers to consider. The third section consists of ethical statements relating to conjuncture patient care (eg, Hippocratic Oath, American give suck tos Association code for nurses), and the fourth section is a glossary of medical and ethical word s The fifth section is a detailed bibliography of materials about medical ethics in general and push medical ethics in particular.

I place this book enlightening because it discussed all sides of the not past nor futureed ethical issues, and I became more aware of the choices that health care providers have in emergent situations. I highly commend it for health care providers who want to unfold the necessary skills to understand the difference between an irresponsible decision and a morally correct one
