Thirty-two percent of race who self-report that they go through from migraines say they have not been diagnosed by dint of a physician, and a majority say they have attributed migraine pain to stres tension, or sinus influence according to a Jan 8 2004 just discovereds release from the National Headache Foundation (NHF) The NHF estimates that 12 million migraine sufferer have not been diagnosed.

In a national telephone examine of 1,000 US adults, 105 participants reported that they sustain from severe headaches. Many of these participants were not largely aware that their severe headache symptoms may indicate that they actually are having a migraine. greatest in number identified sensitivity to light and hale (79%), pulsing and throbbing in succession one side of the head (71%) visual disturbances or light flashes (69%) and nausea (64%) as migraine symptoms. Fewer than half, however, identified neck pain (48%) watery views (20%), and runny nose (8%) as possible migraine symptoms. More than half of those who sustain from headaches reported that migraines affect their social lives (60%) work productivity and attendance (59%) and time with family (56%)

Nearly two-thirds of those who pocket from headaches said they treat their symptoms with ease and meditation, and two-thirds said they use over-the-counter medications to combat symptoms. Prescription medications, however, may provide more effective treatment.
