HEALTH CARE USA: UNDERSTANDING ITS ORGANIZATION AND DELIVERY by dint of Harry A. Sultz, Kristina M Young 1997 329 pp $39 hardcover This volume offers a clear and comprehensive overview of the health care hypothesis in the United States. The focus is upon public health and an analysis of the complexity of our passing from hand to hand health care delivery system. The 13 chapters of the work are organized around three central themes. Chapters undivided through three provide a detailed overview of health care in the United States, including a population perspective, benchmark growths and a historical analysis of hospital origin, organization, and operation. Chapters four between the walls of 11 provide a current conceptualization of health care piles and functions. These chapters include perspectives in succession how hospitals are adapting for the twenty-first centenary the role of ambulatory care, long-term care, mental health services in health care delivery, the changing face of medical education, personnel and finance issues in a managed care environment, and the part of government in public health care delivery. The final sum of two units chapters are dedicated to an analysis of by what means health care advances through research and what the coming events forebodes. This is the same of the most readable works I have enjoyed in a protracted time. It has a generalist perspective and a refreshing objectivity unhampered by way of biased advocacy for any particular clump It would be a useful addition to any health care provider's library. I was to such a degree impressed, I plan to adopt it for use with my graduate nursing pupils in their administration courses.
