WORKING IN THE OPERATING DEPARTMENT...
WORKING IN THE OPERATING DEPARTMENT, secondary ed By Bakul Kumar 1998 317 pp $3295 paperback This part is written by a physician and consultant in anesthesia and pain management for scholar nurses, OR trainees, and anesthesia and regaining nurses in the United Kingdom. The author's goal is to not absent pertinent elements of established subdue matter and relate them to patient care. The work also is intended to be an educational aid to the succor trainee or OR assistant to gain knowledge for examination designs The book includes material and data starting from the physical human small cavity and progressing through simple biology, briefly outlining physics, anesthesia, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation; touching upon nursing research; and ending with a practice examination. The author begins each chapter with an outline of satisfieds and reference page numbers and concludeds each unit with suggested readings. more or less of the suggested readings are not common and half of them were published in the United Kingdom, which can make them difficult for scholars in the United States to obtain. The graphs, lists, and charts are simple, and near of the photographs are outdated for so a current release. The 14-page chapter in succession surgery is brief and oversimplified. The author does not discuss nursing aspects of care, emphasize any positioning, or discuss safety measures for surgical procedures The preface introduces sum of two units new chapters to this other edition. The chapters, "Nursing research and statistics" and "Audit and computers" were added as an enhancement because of "a dramatic shift in the amount of research-based education." Each of these chapters, however, provides little more than dictionary terms The practice examination is an attractive feature for observers looking for a self-study preparation before examinations or certification testing; however, more or less questions pertain to standards of care in the United Kingdom, not in the United States. I do not commit this book for nurses or close examiner nurses as a primary resource because it failed to not past nor future enough relevant information related to patient care in the OR.
