The 1999 give suck to In Washington Internship (NIWI) Program, armyed by the National Federation for Specialty Nursing Organizations (NFSNO), will be held March 7 to 10 1999 in Washington, DC This four-day intensive internship proposes education about the federal legislative proces the political and economic forces driving health care policy and delivery, and for what cause to become politically active. In addition, program participants will expend a day on Capitol Hill visiting senators and representatives. Penny Krug RN MSA, CNOR, CNA, AORN National Legislative Committee state coordinator for Indiana and single in kind of the 1998 NIWI participants, said of her experience, "The pamper in Washington program was a beginning stair that opened a new world of legislative knowledge to me I praise that any AORN member who has the opportunity to participate in this program take advantage of it. This is an opportunity for personal germination as well as for the bourgeoning of the nursing profession."

AORN members qualify for a reduc registration fief because AORN is an affiliate NFSNO member organization. The National Federation for Specialty Nursing Organizations is offering brace scholarships for the program.
