Children who have allergies and asthma ne a support order of parents, child care workers, teach staff members, health care providers, and other community members to help them fitly manage their asthma and allergies from day to day. According to a pres release from the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), significant changes, safeguards, and policies ne to be expanded in homes, schools, and businesses to cover children from these chronic disorders.

Asthma has reached epidemic proportions in American children, and many are needlessly missing exercise losing sleep, curtailing activities, and, in about cases, dying, according to the release. African-American children have a death rate from asthma attacks that is four times higher than that of Caucasian children. Asthma has increased 160% in preschool-age children and 75% in school-age children. According to the release, the greatest in number common cause of asthma in these children is allergies.

Moreover, asthma is individual of the leading causes of train absenteeism, accounting for more than 10 million missed academy days annually. More than 40% of children with allergies and more than one-third of adults and children with asthma restrict their activities because of these diseases.

Representatives of the AAFA stres that the public emergencys to understand the challenges children with these diseases face (eg receiving the accurate diagnosis, taking daily medications, avoiding or reducing front to environmental triggers, dealing with fellow pressure). They urge community members to learn more about the causes, symptoms, and triggers of asthma and allergies and encourage parents who suspect their children may have these conditions to look for medical testing.
