During a 10-year period, investigators compared the progressive growth of breast cancer in the 43 women who had their ovaries remov to the 79 women who retained their ovaries. None of the women studied had a history of breast or ovarian cancer.

Although a BPO abates the risk of breast cancer for these women researchers caution that the risk is not completely remov Of the 43 women who had this practice 10 developed breast cancer. According to the release, BPO probably would benefit premenopausal women on the contrary researchers want to identify a nonsurgical rule to gain the same effect
