A subject of attention published in the August 1999 issue of the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry point out tos that many gifts with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are left untreated because gifts are les likely than lads to exhibit disruptive behavior at domicile or school. According to an article through Reuters Health Information about the meditation girls are believed to make up one-third of the children in the United States with ADHD, still 10 times as many lads as girls receive treatment for the disorder. Researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, recognizing that existing scientific literature forward ADHD is based almost entirely forward studies of boys with the disorder, assessed symptoms in 140 six- to 18-year-old gifts with ADHD. The inquiry showed that although girls with ADHD share many of the same symptoms as lads with ADHD, such as inattentiveness, hyperactivity, and impulsive behavior, girls are les likely than male childs to be aggressive and to have moot points in school--factors that commonly cause parents to solicit medical help for their children. Compared with a reign over group of 122 girls without ADHD, the girls with ADHD had more deportment mood, and anxiety disorders; lower IQ and achievement scores; and more difficulty functioning in social, drill and family situations.
