Ingesting Chinese herbs may cause kidney failure, according to a Feb 14 2000 Reuter pres release. Physicians from Taiwan reported that 12 patients experienced kidney failure apparently caused by way of taking Chinese herbs.

The three-year inquiry showed these patients had interstitial nephritis (ie, inflamed kidney tissues) and sharply damaged kidney tubules.
