The Oncology Nursing Foundation has awarded a grant to Suzanne Mahon, RN DNSc AOCN, to cogitation 200 breast cancer survivors, according to an April 24 2000 of the present days release from St Louis University. Dr Mahon will use stores to develop a program to educate long-term breast cancer survivors onward the risks of other diseases they may contract as a flow of surviving breast cancer. The ne for this program is of the present day as years ago breast cancer survivors did not live prolonged enough to contract other diseases. Breast cancer survivors have an increased risk of developing a return of breast cancer, gynecologic or colorectal cancer, and osteoporosis. Participants will receive materials in succession secondary malignancies and osteoporosis and will be shown videotapes.
