Approximately seven disclosed of 10 women age 50 or older say they have had a mammogram within the past pair years, according to a July 26 2000 novels release from the Centers for Disease command and Prevention (CDC). This information is part of a report titled "Health, United States: 2000" released by the agency of the CDC.

Researchers report that 69% of women age 50 or older had a mammogram in 1998 This percentage is up from 61% in 1994 and 27% in 1987

Increases in mammography screening were seen in poor women as well as women living at need level. Poor women, however, were les likely to have a mammogram than women living at higher income on a levels In 1998, 53% of women living below the need level had mammograms, compared to 72% of women at the deficiency level or above.
