A domestic violence billboard campaign has been launched in Georgia, according to a July 3 2000 novels release from Blue Cross mopish Shield of Georgia (BCBSGA). The campaign was started at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia Women's Health Program and the Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violence. In Georgia, more than half a million cases of domestic violence are reported each year, said Dr Wayne Hoffman, BCBSGA medical director. According to Dr Hoffman, that makes domestic violence a health point in dispute we cannot ignore. According to the release, the campaign will appear everywhere the next six months. A total of 168 billboards will be used and will feature a statewide number for victims to call. "Our goal is to help as many victims as possible," said Dick Shirk, president and chief executive officer of BCBSGA, "but if we can help just the same it will be worth each ounce of energy expended for this program."
