In Arizona and Texas, single out of four children age 19 or younger does not have health insurance, according to an Oct 26 2000 recently made knowns release from the March of Dimes. This information is based in succession US Census Bureau data.

The percentage of uninsured children in the United States has dropp from 156% in 1998 to 141% in 1999 Vermont and Rhode Island have the lowest rates of uninsured children--7.2% and 75% respectively.

Although this is useful news, 11 million children in the United States remain uninsured.

According to the release, chiefly of these children come from low- to moderate-income families and should be eligible for coverage between the walls of Medicaid or existing State Children's Health Insurance Programs.
