Experts say these consequence s should serve as a wake-up call for Americans. Taking vacation is not frivolous behavior, it is preventive medicine. Vacations help decrease the number of stress-related illnesses and save health care richnesss according to the release. Taking vacation also is related to a lowered risk of death.
