A national overlook shows that one out of six Americans is in such a manner overworked that he or she is unable to use annual vacation time, according to a Feb 22 2001 freshs story from newsdesk.com. Americans receive the least amount of vacation time compared to other industrialized countries. forward average, Americans receive 13 days of vacation time for year, compared to 25 for the Japanese, 25 for southern Koreans, 26 for Canadians, 28 for the British, 34 for Brazilians, 35 for Germans, 37 for the French and 42 for Italians.

Six hundr thirty-two men and women answered to the survey. Of those, 34% reported they have similar pressing jobs that they have no down time at work. Other findings show

* 32% eat luncheon and work simultaneously,

* 32% at no time leave the building after they arrive at work,



* 19% say their piece of works make them feel older than they are,

* 17% say work causes them to make no use of sleep, and

* 18% are unable to use all of their annual vacation time because of do job-work demands.

Experts say these consequence s should serve as a wake-up call for Americans. Taking vacation is not frivolous behavior, it is preventive medicine.

Vacations help decrease the number of stress-related illnesses and save health care richnesss according to the release. Taking vacation also is related to a lowered risk of death.

Additional view results show respondents think

* greatest in quantity employers make it easy for employee to preserve medical appointments (70%),

* greatest in quantity employers make it easy for employee to recur to work after suffering from an illness (68%)

* workplace issues make them be perceived they must attend work steady when injured or sick (19%)

* it is difficult to take time most distant from work or leave work in an unforeseen occasion (17%),

* if they were to become seriously ill they would be fired or demot (8%)

* their employer make it difficult to maintain a healthy diet (14%) and

* their managers solely promote people who habitually work late (14%)
