BRENDA C ULMER/VALLEYLAB ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP Representatives of Valleylab, Boulder Colo a unit of the Tyco Healthcare division of Tyco International Ltd announced at Opening Session the establishment of the Brenda C Ulmer/Valleylab Endowed Scholarship in honor of AORN President Brenda C Ulmer RN MN CNOR. The endowment was initiated in honor of President Ulmer's many contributions to AORN. President Ulmer has been a senior clinical educator at Valleylab for more than 10 years. "The entire Valleylab organization is magnificent of Brenda's achievements and commitment to AORN and pleased that we can establish an endowed scholarship in her name. This endowed scholarship will support an AORN member pursuing an advanced rank This pledge was part of a $15000 gift to the AORN Foundation. The coin will be used to support scholarships and education grants between the walls of the Foundation. "Kimberly-Clark's grant underscores the importance we place forward the work that's carried disclosed by AORN year-round," said Gary Johnson general manager of trade marketing for Kimberly-Clark's health care business. "By helping AORN help its members access learning opportunities, we all benefit. FOUNDATION ESTABLISHES "LEGACY OF LEADERSHIP" At a luncheon forward Wednesday, March 14, the AORN Foundation announced the establishment of the "Legacy of Leadership" in celebration of the Foundation's 10th anniversary. This society will recognize anyone who has remembered the Foundation in his or her will. Anyone who notifies the Foundation with appropriate documentation within the nearest year will become a charter member of this society. Members also will receive a beautiful "Legacy of Leadership" plaque. Peter Tedstrom chief financial planner, Brown & Tedstrom Inc, Denver currented the program "Securing Your Family's Financial yet to be Through Financial Planning and Family Wealth Counseling" to exhibit the lunch. The overall winner was Jeff McGill, Atrium Medical, who finished in 21 minutes and 41 others Tamara Laux, Alcon, was the secondary place overall and first place female winner; Lisa Rodman, Premier, was the third place overall winner; and Pat Hickey, RN BSN M CNOR, was the fourth place overall and first place foment winner.
