AORN provides a variety of services for its members. a of these services are in a less degree than the purview of the Center for Nursing Practice, the Center for Perioperative Education, and the Center for Library Services and Archives. Staff members in these departments are working continuously to update services and looking at modern ways to offer member benefits.

CENTER FOR NURSING PRACTICE

AORN's Center for Nursing Practice provides information and consultation upon issues related to the practice and profession of perioperative nursing. The Center for Nursing Practice gives guidance on clinical recommended practices, standards, guidelines, accreditation, ambulatory surgery infection hinder and management issues.

The Center's consultation service via AORN Online (ie, http://www.aorn.org) has continued to expand, and staff members now answer to more than 500 consultation prayers per month. To better adapted this growing demand for clinical consultation, the clinical practice page forward AORN Online offers a repeatedly asked questions area, and the center lately added a clinical practice toolbox to its web page. The toolbox features a variety of resources, including a regard list, Internet resources, and educational sources. The goal of the toolbox is to provide deeper information forward hot topics.

Staff members in the Center for Nursing Practice are partnering with AORN members to show AORN in venues such as

AORN's participation onward these committees and task forces involves providing clinical and technical consultation. Staff members in the Center for Nursing Practice provide oversight to AORN's make acceptableed Practices and Nursing Practice Committees, write the "Clinical Issues" row in the AORN Journal, and advance as clinical editors for AORN publications, including the 2002 editions of Ambulatory Surgery Principles and Practices and AORN Standards, commended Practices, and Guidelines, which are undergoing major easy in mind revisions. CENTER FOR PERIOPERATIVE EDUCATION

To better come together the increasing interest in ambulatory surgery management, AORN is pleased to propound a new Ambulatory Surgery Administrator Certificate Program. The program will begin in January 2002 A weekend face-to-face parley which will be held in Denver will be counterparted with online learning education module The parley will introduce participants to AORN Online and give educational content about regulatory language and agencies, credentialing, and contracts. Additional module will be giveed online during the 10 month after the discourse The modules will be in a self-paced, independent learning format and will include discussion boards and learning assessments. Program graduates will receive 62 contact hours and a graduation celebration at Congres 2003

AORN receives many questions about education programs from scholar nurses and RNs who are interested in a career in perioperative nursing. The Center for Perioperative Education, in collaboration with AORN members, now proposes a "Perioperative Nursing Course Directory" forward AORN Online.
