Denise L Geuder RN M CNOR, has been selected president of the Joint Commission upon Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) Ambulatory Care Professional and Technical Advisory Committee (PTAC). The PTAC advises JCAHO onward standards development and survey practice changes. Geuder, a former member of the SSM editorial board and an active AORN member, is vice president of patient care services at St Francis Hospital, Tulsa, Okla. Geuder provides leadership for surgical services, cardiovascular services, laboratory, and radiology.

Geuder directed the design and implementation of a hospital-sponsored ambulatory surgery center for St Francis Hospital. She is a every-day speaker for AORN on topics so as ambulatory surgery, case management, proces improvement, do job-work redesign, and case scheduling strategies. Geuder authored a chapter of the 11th edition of Alexander's Care of the Patient in Surgery and the secondary edition of Ambulatory Surgical Nursing.
