AORN has created Patient Safety First, a fresh initiative designed to assist perioperative feeds managers, and practitioners in their efforts to provide safe patient care. As part of this initiative, AORN has available three resources to help you with patient safety issues.

* A Patient Safety First web site, located at http://www.patient safetyfirst.org. This web site has a wide array of resources related to patient safety in surgical settings, including lists of AORN's educational consequences and resources, articles, links to national patient safety initiatives, and more.

* A safety ask advice of e-mail address at patientsafety first@aorn.org. Use this e-mail address to move comments and suggestions or ask for advice upon safety issues.

* A Patient Safety First toll-free hotline at (866) 285-5209 This number is staffed at experts who can answer your patient safety questions or commit you to the appropriate AORN department.
