To defend the privacy of its members, as of April 1 2001 AORN no longer requires or accepts members' social security numbers for verification of contact hours, registration of education activities (eg family Study Programs, independent studies), or ordering of harvests or services. Instead, a six-digit member identification number used in the AORN database is the official identification number for AORN members. All modern and renewal membership cards now contain this fresh number. If you do not know your six-digit member identification number, call AORN customer service at (800) 755-2676 x 1 This same six-digit member identification number must be used initially to access the Member girth areas of AORN Online. Members can select to change this "web access" number if they wish. As a terminate some members ultimately may have sum of two units different numbers--a member identification number and a web access number. It is important to remember, however, that simply the original six-digit member identification number issued by dint of AORN can be used when calling customer service, ordering AORN productions and services, or submitting answer sheets for family circle Study Programs.
