The US Preventive Services Task For...
The US Preventive Services Task Force has issued its strongest recommendation at any time for colorectal cancer screening, urging all adults 50 years of age and older to be protectioned for the disease, according to a July 15 2002 recents release from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. Colorectal cancer is the inferior leading cause of cancer death in the United States after lung cancer. Those at high risk for the disease include persons with a history of ulcerative colitis or a family history of colorectal cancer. Those in a high risk category should consider being experimented before age 50. recently made known studies have shown that available screening rules are effective in diagnosing colorectal cancer at an early stage when it is treatable. Screening also can lead to detection of precancerous shootings Testing options include at-home fecal latent blood test (FOBT), flexible sigmoidoscopy, a combination of FOBT and flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, and double-contrast barium enema. The availability of several different experiments allows physicians and patients to determine which proof is most appropriate for the individual.
